Neither one of them had any earthshattering news when they came home. Lots of papers to sign...more supplies to buy. Lukas seemed very tired and glad to be home. He fell right off to sleep easily tonight.
I got a call from the Red Cross today.....I am hired!! I start Monday!! I am so excited!! I was chosen out of 65 applicants. Pretty impressive, huh? It's going to feel wierd going back to work, but I am so looking forward to it. I didn't think I'd ever be excited to be going back to work, but seeing as though the hours are perfect and the pay is decent....I'm elated! It would be different if I were going to work an 8 to 5 job, or worse yet, a part-time job that required me to work weekends at minimum wage. I wouldn't be too thrilled about either. But this job will still allow me to be home with the kids before and after school, and still be able to attend functions at school.
On Saturday we went to put a downpayment on our outdoor woodstove. Yee-Ha. It's supposed to be here in October sometime. Mike spent Sunday digging a trench under the back porch. The trench is for the pipe that will lead from the stove to the house. We got our first load of wood today. Yes, there's another load coming. Uggggggh. Let's just say.....there's already a shitload of wood out there. So....guess what we'll be doing this weekend??? I took a picture of the truck backing up the driveway so that I could show Lukas when he got home from school, knowing full-well that he would be pissed that he missed the dump truck!
Well, 6:30 comes early....so I'm heading to bed! Slate....out!!
