Finally.....Some Peace and Quiet

Lukas hasn't had a good time of getting up for school the past 2 mornings, even though he's had 10 1/2 hours of sleep (in bed at 8 and up at 6:30). So, I put him in bed at 7:30 tonight and he fell fast asleep. Jake was in bed at 8:30 do to a VERY sassy mouth this morning.....obviously he's not getting enough sleep either! So, here it is, 8:56 p.m......and the house is so peaceful! It feels wonderful. Summer is so hectic, and the kids are up till all hours of the night (my fault, I know), and it's just mass chaos around here. I love being back into a routine, and better yet, having some time to myself at night. It's good for the kids to be back on a schedule too. It's only been a couple of days, and I'm hoping that by next week, our mornings won't be so miserable.

Back to School!! Woo Hoo!!

Our morning started out early. It's going to take some time to get used to that again! We were up at 6:30. I'd like to get Lukas to eat breakfast first, then his bath, then get dressed and have his teeth brushed....then of course, a little t.v. We're not big breakfast eaters, so this morning was not fun trying to get him to eat a bowl of cereal. Bath's usually go smoothly, and I've always given them to him in the morning for the simple fact that he still wets the bed from time to time, so it's just more hygenic to give him a bath in the morning rather than at night. Here are a couple of pics of the boys right before the bus came:

Neither one of them had any earthshattering news when they came home. Lots of papers to sign...more supplies to buy. Lukas seemed very tired and glad to be home. He fell right off to sleep easily tonight.

I got a call from the Red Cross today.....I am hired!! I start Monday!! I am so excited!! I was chosen out of 65 applicants. Pretty impressive, huh? It's going to feel wierd going back to work, but I am so looking forward to it. I didn't think I'd ever be excited to be going back to work, but seeing as though the hours are perfect and the pay is decent....I'm elated! It would be different if I were going to work an 8 to 5 job, or worse yet, a part-time job that required me to work weekends at minimum wage. I wouldn't be too thrilled about either. But this job will still allow me to be home with the kids before and after school, and still be able to attend functions at school.

On Saturday we went to put a downpayment on our outdoor woodstove. Yee-Ha. It's supposed to be here in October sometime. Mike spent Sunday digging a trench under the back porch. The trench is for the pipe that will lead from the stove to the house. We got our first load of wood today. Yes, there's another load coming. Uggggggh. Let's just say.....there's already a shitload of wood out there. So....guess what we'll be doing this weekend??? I took a picture of the truck backing up the driveway so that I could show Lukas when he got home from school, knowing full-well that he would be pissed that he missed the dump truck!

Well, 6:30 comes early....so I'm heading to bed! Slate....out!!
